Route Trace Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the Android application Route Trace, published by Turki Almustafa, handles information when you use the app.

Route Trace does not require an account and does not display advertising. Recorded routes are stored locally on your device. The developer does not receive your recorded route history or precise location data.

1. Information used by Route Trace

Route Trace uses location information to show your position on the map, record a route, and help you follow a saved route.

Depending on your Android settings and the feature you choose, this may include precise GPS location, movement speed, direction, accuracy, and timestamps associated with location points.

2. When location is accessed

Location access occurs only after you grant the relevant Android permission. When you explicitly start route recording or route navigation, Route Trace may continue receiving location updates while the app is not visible so that the user-initiated session can continue.

On Android, an ongoing foreground-service notification is displayed while this tracking activity is active. You may stop recording or navigation from within the app, revoke location permission in Android settings, or disable device location services.

3. Local storage of routes

Route points, route names, recording segments, and related route settings are stored locally on your device. They remain there until you delete them in the app, clear the app's data, or uninstall the app.

Route Trace does not upload your saved route history to a server operated by the developer.

4. Exporting and sharing

The app may allow you to export or share a route. Sharing happens only when you choose to do so. Once you send a file to another app, service, or person, that recipient's privacy practices apply to the shared copy.

5. Purchases and subscriptions

Optional premium purchases or subscriptions are processed through Google Play. Route Trace uses RevenueCat to manage purchase status and premium entitlements. Google Play and RevenueCat may process purchase-related identifiers, transaction information, app or device information, and entitlement status as needed to provide and restore purchases.

The developer does not receive your full payment-card details.

Route Trace uses third-party services that may process information under their own privacy policies:

These providers may receive technical information such as IP address, device or app identifiers, operating-system information, network information, diagnostics, and service-usage information as necessary to provide their services.

7. Advertising, accounts, and sale of data

Route Trace does not require you to create an account and does not include third-party advertising. The developer does not sell your recorded routes or precise location data.

8. Data retention and deletion

Locally stored routes remain on your device until you delete them, clear app storage, or uninstall the app. Data handled by Google Play, Google Maps Platform, Google Play services, or RevenueCat is retained according to each provider's own policies and legal obligations.

Because the developer does not receive your locally stored route history, deletion of that route data is performed directly on your device.

9. Security

Reasonable measures are used to limit Route Trace's handling of data to the functions needed by the app. However, no device, software, or method of electronic storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

10. Children's privacy

Route Trace is not specifically directed to children. The app does not knowingly request children to create an account or submit personal information directly to the developer.
